What brought you to therapy, and what were you hoping to gain from it?
My sister found you on the Internet. I was in a very bad place and needed some non-judgemental relief and understanding of what was happening to me.
How would you describe your counselling experience?
I learnt a lot at the beginning about how the mind works and about ideation. It was a calming place to be, for the hour at a time I was there.
Did you feel understood and supported during our sessions?
Yes, I felt understood and supported. I was worried at the beginning because I didn’t know what to expect, but I felt that the emotional issues were understood. I felt i could be open and Adrian was very easy to talk to.
What changes or progress have you noticed since having therapy?
I learnt about ideation and to recognise it. I also learnt that I’m not necassarily responsible for other peoples feelings. Progress has been slow personally, but I am a bit better.
Which aspects of our work did you find most helpful?
Would you recommend this service to others? If so, why?
The initial meetings were helpful to stop spiralling completely out of control. And learning about how the mind works. I would recommend this service to others if they feel totally lost or trapped or even just continually frustrated. I had all those feelings in the past and had not sought to talk to a professional, even for a few sessions – which would have been helpful earlier in my life.
June 2025
I came to Adrian for help with addiction to alcohol.
And to try and find out why I have a problem with it.
The experience was good and Adrian is very easy to talk to.
The support was good and I felt understood as he has first hand experience of my problem.
I feel in a much better place now and hopefully can keep. It up.

1. What brought you to therapy, and what were you hoping to gain from it?
-I was struggling with mental health and depression and soon relished that it was the life I was living, using drugs and drinking and not dealing with the issues and anger I had built up over time. Blaming the world for my life not being what I thought I wanted. I honesty thought suicide was the only way out and didn’t want to live, now I love life. Wish I had done this sooner.
2. How would you describe your counselling experience?
-Sometime very hard and scary to look back at the things that were holding me back from getting well, but when I did I found that it wasn’t that bad and the thought of doing it was scarier than actually doing it.
3. Did you feel understood and supported during our sessions?
-Yes, first time I had felt like I wasn’t the only one with these thoughts or my kind of thinking. I could talk about things I had bottled up for years and never thought I would tell anyone.
4. What changes or progress have you noticed since having therapy? –
I’m a complete different person and live a completely life. I changed my thinking and ways and with this my life completely changed only for the better.
5. Which aspects of our work did you find most helpful?
-Helping me deal with my anger and guilt and the passed, giving me a new way of coping with life, giving me a piece of mind so I’m now calm, caring and not just thinking about myself, thinking of others.
6. Would you recommend this service to others? If so, why?
-yes I would and I do. I pass on what I’ve been taught but also I have advice people to get the same support and treatment as I did so they can change there lives like I have.
7. Any final thoughts or feedback you’d like to share?
-it’s a game changer and everyone or anyone who struggles with letting go of the passed or is always angry or sad they need to look at why. When they do there lives will change for the better. Best thing i have ever done for myself is ask for help and then accept the help offered.

1 I was suffering with drug and alcohol addiction, and had many childhood issues/trauma to work through .
2 My experience was first class , I couldn’t have felt more comfortable and at ease ,with someone who could relate back to me with there own experiences, and knew exactly what I suffered with , very knowledgeable.
3 I felt I was dealing with someone very trustworthy, in an environment I could express myself freely in .
4 I was set goals , with weekly assignments and tasks to be completed in my own time, but i had deadlines for these tasks to be completed.
5 Writing letters , allowed me to express and explore emotions I had not been in tune with for decades, and was what helped me heal the most .
6 without the counselling I received, I simply wouldn’t be the man I am today, I feel I have my life back , which was very much out of control at the start of our counselling sessions.
7 I have structure in my life , an awareness of what I suffer with , confidence to get on with life on life’s terms without being held back by fear.
8 Definitely, and already have if I’m honest, couldn’t fault the way we worked , or what was achieved, and I am very grateful for the treatment received.
9 The whole experience was the best I have ever received, I have used other counselling in the past and wasn’t given the time ,or dedication, everything seemed rushed. There is genuine care here , there is honestly no comparison , I don’t think any improvements are needed .
